EVENTS
Vajrayana and the Santi Maha Sangha Base
Seminar with Steven Landsberg in Helsinki
This seminar will focus upon the practice of Tara and the Seventh Lojong. Within that context there will be explanations of important points related to Buddhist sutra, tantra and dzogchen. Both morning and afternoon sessions will be divided between practice and explanation.
Tara is a practice both for realizing total enlightenment as well as for removing obstacles and fulfilling whatever one needs in daily life. In the Santi Maha Sangha Base Level teachings there are Seven Mind Trainings or Lojongs, methods for debugging our karmic vision and turning our attention towards an enlightened view. The 7th Lojong is fundamental to the SMS Base Level and is a profound method for introducing oneself to the state of contemplation.
The seminar will be in English and is open to all those who have already received transmission from Chogyal Namkhai Norbu as well as to those who are serious about receiving the transmission at the earliest possible opportunity. For those who do not have the possibility to receive transmission in Rinpoche’s presence, it is also possible through live webcast. The next world wide transmission by webcast is on August 13th.
Steven Landsberg began studying Tibetan Buddhism in 1967 whilst he was living in India. He also spent years studying Sanskrit and Tibetan and many years doing preliminary practices. In 1982, he attended his first retreat with Chogyal Namkhai Norbu Rinpoche and began practicing under his guidance. He has continued to pursue his study and practice of SMS since that time and passed the Teachers Training.
